Look at what I have!
As a thank you for hosting their baby shower, Janz and Ellen gave me this box of super fabulous chocolates. Last night I ate a piece and it was so heart stoppingly delicious that I practically cried.
I am a person who is prone to living in my head. Sometimes I have trouble staying present in my day to day life. Lately, I have been thinking about all of the different ways to truly appreciate my physical world. Sometimes a taste of something extraordinary can snap me back into reality and convince me to focus on the moment.
I love this box of chocolates not just because it is delicious, but also because it comes wrapped in a beautiful box tied with a pretty orange ribbon. I am going to eat one chocolate a day and really enjoy the experience.
My 2007 New Year's resolutions are all about doing things which help keep me focused on living in the "now". For a long time I have taken the mental approach to this task. I have dabbled in meditation, I have filled countless journals, I have read tons of books on the subject. This coming year, I am going to attempt to live in the moment by focusing on touch, smells, sounds, sights, and tastes.
2007 will be the Year of Good Sense.
